8. Old Baggy
Do you know what? I was lying on my back in the sun with a copy of my favourite magazine, Good Mousekeeping, when I read a story about an old pal of mine, Bagpuss. He was big on TV years ago but has been quiet lately. As soon as my owner, Clive, wasn’t looking I grabbed my mewbile phone and called him. It turns out that old Baggy and many of the other greatest cat actors are all out of work. Tom from Tom and Jerry is in hospital with a rake in his face and a ten ton weight on his back. Tiddles who played the villain, Blofeld’s cat in the James Bond films hasn’t worked in ages whilst poor Sylvester, who never caught Tweetie Pie has a drinking problem (two pints of milk a day). As for dear old Top Cat, he really does now live in a dustbin. Had to sell his six bedroom house in Beverley Hills to keep himself in kitty litter. Grrrr. It makes me want to spit a fur ball!
Anyway, I’ve made some more calls on my mewbile and am setting up a furry talent agency for my feline friends. Any suggestions for film and TV roles can be sent to
